At Dapto Healthcare we understand how important
our skin health is especially for our sunny coasts so we've brought on board our very own registered nurse Melanographer. Melanoma is extremely dangerous being Australia's 3rd most common cancer¹ and can often be missed with the usual visual checks. Melanoma can develop fast and is deadly but the good news is that early detection means it can almost always be treated.
Our nurse is trained to use MoleMap technologies and work alongside expert dermatologists to keep an eye on your skin health. MoleMap is Australia's leading skin cancer detection, diagnosis and skin-mapping service with expert diagnosis from certified dermatologists. Our Melanographer will use the Dermatoscope to see deep into the moles core and detect early signs of skin cancer. More than just a cursory glance, it's a thorough and indepth examination of your skin overseen by field specialists.
Not only can current moles be assessed for the early signs of cancer, they are also mapped using the MoleMap software and can be used as a comparison for future visits. This means even the smallest changes can be detected and investigated straight away, when its easiest to treat. This new technology is an innovative way of checking, and then re-checking, what's going on under our skin.

Fees
When attending Dapto Healthcare patients will be charged a fee for medical services. If you hold a concession card (Pension or Health Care Card) you will be charged a reduced fee. Please note that patients must pay the full amount and then Medicare will reimburse them the rebate amount. The Out of Pocket price is how much the patient will have paid by the end of this process.
Please note that some services provided by the nurses will also carry a fee.
Getting your rebate:
If you bring your physical debit card (one with a savings or cheque account connected) or account details (BSB and Account number) to your appointment we can process your medicare claim on the spot for an instant refund. This cannot be put onto a credit card or your phone.
