Fees & Billing
At Dapto Healthcare, we are committed to providing high-quality, accessible healthcare to our community. Our practice operates under a mixed billing model, which means:
- Medicare rebates are available for eligible services under the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS).
- Consultations and procedures may attract a private fee, with the Medicare rebate reducing your out-of-pocket expense.
- Bulk billing is available in certain circumstances, at the discretion of the treating doctor.

What is Mixed Billing?
Mixed billing allows us to offer a combination of bulk billed and privately billed services. This approach helps us maintain the sustainability of our practice while continuing to deliver comprehensive care. Patients may be required to pay a gap fee—the difference between our consultation fee and the Medicare rebate. This fee varies depending on the type and length of the consultation.
Why Mixed Billing?
The decision to adopt a mixed billing model is driven by several factors including:
- Medicare Rebate Stagnation: Medicare rebates have not kept pace with the actual costs of providing healthcare services, making it challenging to cover expenses through bulk billing alone.
- Practice Sustainability: Implementing mixed billing ensures that we can maintain the quality of care, invest in better services, and support our dedicated staff.
Medicare Rebates
For eligible services, patients can claim a rebate through Medicare. We offer on-the-spot electronic claiming to facilitate this process.

Payment is required at the time of consultation. We accept:
