Antenatal and Women's Health
Dapto Healthcare Medical Centre provides a comprehensive range of Womens Health Services
These include:
- Women's health nurse/ midwife who is qualified and accredited to perform pap smears, breast examinations, well women's healthy lifestyle checks ( including weight, blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol checks)
- Sexual Health Advice : including family planning, safe sexual practice and STI screening
- Contraception Advice: including Implanon insertion and removal and information regarding Mirena
Patients requiring Implanon insertion or removal will need to have an appointment with a GP before to discuss their suitability and plan the most appropriate time for the procedure.
- Procedures require a 30 minute appointment and you will be able to drive after the procedure

DHC also provides a Mother Craft Nurse who provides services such as:
Baby and Childhood Checks ( as per NSW Personal Health Record " Blue Book") and immunisations (as per NSW Immunisation schedule)

A healthy Kids Check ensures children are healthy, fit and ready to learn when they go to school. The aim of the Healthy Kids check is to promote early detection of lifestyle risk factors, delayed development and illness. It also provides an oportunity to discuss with the doctor or Mother Craft nurse any concerns and early intervention strategies for your child. A Healthy kids check includes an assessment of your child's height, weight, and assessment of their eyesight, hearing and oral health and discussion about their toilet habits and known or suspected allergies
